In photos published from the funeral of former South African President Nelson Mandela, it appears that US President Obama had an amusing conversation, perhaps too much considering the event, with the head of the Danish government. The one who didn’t approve was First Lady Michelle Obama, who took care to switch places with her husband and separate the two.

Among the tens of thousands who participated yesterday in honoring
former South African President Nelson Mandela, it was the Obama’s who
attracted the most media attention from those gathered at the football
stadium in Johannesburg. US President Obama delivered a moving speech,
which described Mandela as a “historic giant,” but another event stole
the show: a friendly flirtatious rapport, perhaps too much, with the
head of the Danish government.Obama and his wife Michelle arrived slightly late to the ceremony because of the heavy security at the place. They sat on chairs reserved for them, next to Dutch Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt and British Prime Minister David Cameron. The three were swept away by the special atmosphere, recorded happiness from the balcony, and even took part in a joint picture.

During the funeral service, Obama and Thorning-Schmidt continued to
chat and giggle, which evidently US First Lady Michelle Obama did not
like. She kept a straight face and behaved more appropriate to the
setting. When the US President approached the podium in order to
eulogize Mandela, the ice broke between Michelle and the Dutch Prime
Minister. The two of them exchanged words. When the US President returned to his seat, he found that his wife had changed seats to distance him from his Danish friend. The American media highlighted
