Mark Zuckerberg tackled a swath of questions from Facebook users today in a town hall that covered everything from whether a "dislike" button could be coming in the future to what his New Year's resolution he has planned for 2015.
Following on the success of Zuckererg's weekly internal forums at Facebook, the CEO held his first open forum for Facebook's 1.35 billion users last month and followed it up with another today to round out the year.
At his first forum we learned the Harvard dropout doesn't think he's cool and that the reason he wears the same shirt every day is so he can focus on making choices that he believes really matter.
Here are some of the highlights of Zuck's December forum:
A 'Dislike' Button Could Be Coming in the Future
Zuckerberg said Facebook is "thinking about" adding a dislike button but wants to make sure it doesn't turn into a "voting mechanism" that wouldn't be "socially valuable."
Instead, Zuckerberg said he wants a potential dislike button to be used to help people express sympathy, such as when someone loses a loved one or has a terrible day.
His Best Business Advice
"The biggest thing that I would say is don’t worry about making mistakes," Zuckerberg said. "The real question is how you learn from them and not which things you can avoid."
Help Him Pick A New Year's Resolution
Previously he has tackled challenges, including learning Mandarin (which he showed off earlier this year), meeting someone new outside Facebook each day and only eating animals he has killed.
Zuckerberg said he'll decide on a resolution during the last week of the year and urged anyone with suggestions to leave a comment on the "Q&A With Mark" Facebook page.
"I spend so much time running this company I want to be able to do other things outside of that too," he said, explaining why resolutions have been so important to him. "I will have one. I just don’t have it yet."
His One Big Habit For Success
Zuckerberg said he has learned that reacting to problems can be a real time drain.
"One of the most important things that I think I try to do is focus my time proactively rather than reactively on whatever comes up," he said.
His Pizza Preference
Zuckerberg noted he was answering a very important question about his pizza preference from a user in Australia.
"If you’re going to be eating pizza you might as well also have fried chicken on top of the pizza," he said to laughs.
It's OK to Interrupt Him
Hey Mark, we're gonna let you finish but first...
Zuckerberg said being interrupted is commonplace during his internal Facebook town halls.
According to the billionaire, someone will say, "Yeah you're wrong!"
"I’ll say what I think and if I get some fact wrong someone will stand up...it's a little embarrassing for me but it’s good. I encourage that."
