There's a lot of actors and actresses feeling rather thankful right now, and it's because their work over the last year in cinema and television has been acknowledged by the Golden Globe Awards.
The Hollywood Foreign Press unveiled the 2015 nominees for the 72nd annual ceremony which included Jennifer Aniston, who is up for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (drama) for her stand-out role in Cake.
'I'm just humbled,' she told Entertainment Weekly on Thursday.

Aniston was first nominated for a Golden Globe in 2002 for her role as Rachel Green in Friends in the Best Supporting Actress - Series, Miniseries or Television Film category.

The following year she took home the Best Actress - Television Series, Musical or Comedy for the same part, but this is the first time her dramatic work has been recognised.
In Cake, she plays a scarred divorcee who suffers from chronic pain and becomes obsessed with the widowed husband of a former support group member who committed suicide.

'It's just all happening so fast and so beautifully,' Jennifer explained. 'The Globes are a big fun party and it's so fun to celebrate with your peers. My friend Emily [Blunt] is nominated so I'm excited for her. We're just going to have a fun night.' 
British actress Emily Blunt - who is nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Into the Woods said: Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press for embracing the Baker's Wife and recognizing this film that I am so proud to be a part of.

Another nod: This is Dame Helen Mirren's tenth Golden Globe nomination, this time for her leading role in The Hundred Foot Journey
Emily Blunt has been nominated three times for a Golden Globe Award. Her first nod was in the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) category for her breakthrough role in The Devil Wears Prada.
She was later nominated in he 2010 for The Young Victoria and in 2013 for Salmon Fishing In The Yemen in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) category.
Dame Helen Mirren received her tenth Golden Globe nomination - having won four already - for her role in The Hundred Foot Journey.

After learning of her Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) recognition, the British star said for: 'Merci a les Couilles D'orees. C'est Vachement chouette! Translation: thank you to the golden balls. It is cowly [damned] nice.' 
Rosamund Pike earned her first Golden Globes nod for her harrowing performance as Amy Elliot-Dunne in Gone Girl this year.
'It is as if a magic carpet picked me up last year and it is astonishing and exhilarating that it has taken me all the way here,' Pike said.

Her Pride And Prejudice co-star Keira Knightley was also nominated in the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for The Imitation Game. She said: 'I felt so lucky to have portrayed Joan Clarke, such an extraordinary woman who defied convention and was part of a moment in history.

Clive Owen starred in King Arthur with Keira back in 2004, and now ten years later he too is up for a Golden Globe award in the television category for Best Actor, for his role in The Knick.
'This nomination is also a testament to the writers of The Knick who provided such rich and riveting material, the fantastic cast and of course to the great Steven Soderbergh. A huge thank you to them and of course the Hollywood Foreign Press for this wonderful honour.'
Eddie Redmayne received his first Golden Globe nod for his stand out role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything. 
'I was in the middle of attempting to do all my holiday shopping in a day when I got the call. I am beyond thrilled to be nominated alongside such a stunning quartet of actors,' the British talent said.
'The fact that Felicity [Jones], Jóhann [Jóhannsson], and the film are nominated means the world. I am hugely grateful to the HFPA – and to Professor Stephen Hawking for his personal support in helping me to share his story with the world.'
Felicity said: 'I'm overjoyed to hear this news! It's a tremendous feeling to receive recognition for this film amongst a list of so many wonderful actors - an absolute privilege. The greatest thanks to the HFPA, and to Jane Hawking for entrusting me with performing her moving and inspirational life story.'

The nominations were revealed by actress Kate Beckinsale in Beverly Hills on Thursday ahead of the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards alongside Paula Patton, Peter Krause, Jeremy Piven and this year's Miss Golden Globe Greer Grammer.
The ceremony will be presented on January 11, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
