Conchita Wurst stuns on Globes red carpet

Did you happen to notice Conchita Wurst, who strutted her stuff on the Golden Globes red carpet?

She was somewhat hard to miss, with her green velvet dress boasting a thigh-high slit and a plunging neckline revealing a nude bustier.
And there was her beard.
The Austrian singer/drag queen and burlesque star, 26, who also goes by Thomas Neuwirth (Wurst is her stage name), first rose to fame when she won the top prize at the Eurovision Song Contest in May, singing James Bond song, Rise Like a Phoenix.
Yahoo.com says that since then she has become not only a global star, but a darling with the fashion world.
Featured in the January issue of Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book, Wurst explains, "I grew up in a very small village in Austria, a quite conservative one, and I was always the outsider. I was always the weird little boy dressing as a girl and behaving not like the other boys."
And Wurst explains the facial hair.
"I always get the question, why the beard? And I think the beard, for me, has so many reasons and so many meanings, but at the end of the day, I want to show that you can achieve anything, that you can have a beautiful life with any kind of look, because the way you look isn't the most important thing in life. It doesn't matter."
