Liverpool will not turn to Andre Villas-Boas - even if they exit Champions League, says Danny Murphy
The ex-Chelsea and Spurs boss has been tipped to replace Brendan Rodgers at Anfield but Murphy has labelled such speculation as 'ridiculous'

Danny Murphy is convinced his old club Liverpool would never turn to Andre Villas-Boas to replace Brendan Rodgers.
The former Spurs boss is on course for title success at Russian club Zenit St Petersburg after losing his job in north London last year.
Liverpool’s title hopes have evaporated and Rodgers needs his men to beat Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night to remain in this season’s competition.
Regardless of the result, however, Murphy believes Villas-Boas will not be the man that the Reds turn to.
He said: “Brendan will keep his job, no matter what. He deserves that.
“But if for some reason – and it would be a shock – if he left, AVB would not be on the list of 20 managers next for Liverpool, never mind one.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Murphy added: “It’s ridiculous. He failed at Chelsea, he failed at Tottenham so why would you take him at Liverpool?”
